Desk News: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) under the Sylhet sector, led by the Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB), seized 21 Indian cows in an anti-smuggling operation.

According to reports, the operation took place early Tuesday morning (September 10) at 5:30 AM. Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team from the Jaintapur Border Outpost (BOP), under Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB), conducted a special anti-smuggling operation.

During the operation, 21 Indian cows were seized from the Tiprakhal-Goabari border area within the Jaintapur BOP’s jurisdiction in Sylhet. The smugglers abandoned the cattle and fled upon noticing the BGB patrol entering Bangladesh territory. As a result, no arrests were made.

Lieutenant Colonel Khondker Md. Asadunnabi, PSC, commander of Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB), stated that as per the interim government’s directives, BGB’s security and intelligence operations at the border are ongoing to safeguard the border and prevent smuggling.
